We've noticed a difference in how businesses approach their email list opt-in. Online businesses tend to put email opt-ins all over their websites but local businesses often don't have an opt-in on their website at all. Yet, if you go into their brick and mortar store, you may find a paper on the front counter inviting you to join their email list. Hmmm, a bit of a disconnect, right?
People spend a ton of time online these days so it's important to make it easy for them to subscribe online.
Add an email list opt-in to your website and your list will grow much faster than if you're just relying on local visitors.
If you're on Facebook, you should also have an email list opt-in tab on your Facebook business page. Of course, give customers something for signing up and you'll see an even bigger bump in subscribers, but that's a post for another day.
How to add email list opt-ins to your website and Facebook depends on what email service you're using and how your site is set up. We recommend MailChimp for a free option and ActiveCampaign for a more robust, full featured email marketing system.
So where is your opt-in? Let us know in the comments!
