Boost Your Credibility

Websites are a powerful tool to boost credibility

When a new visitor is on your website, they’re not just making a judgment on your website. They’re using your website to judge the credibility of your entire business. They may also be looking for your hours, services, or location, but the impression they gain from your website determines how credible they think your business is.

There are a lot of things you can do with your website to boost your credibility, but here are a few tips. Read on and see if there is anything you can improve on your site.

A Professional Website Design

A business website doesn’t need to be complex, but it does need to look professional and attractive. Are things lined up where they should be? Do you have any weird code that’s showing instead of what should be there? A professional website is the number one way to put your best virtual foot forward.

An Error Free Website

You can have the coolest website design possible but if you have text errors or broken links, forget about it. These things are major deal breakers that make visitors instantly question your credibility. I have to mention here that a blog is slightly different. Occasional typos in blogs are pretty common. Of course, we want to do the very best we can, but don’t let it keep you up at night.

Put You Into Your Business

People want to do business with other people. Definitely include a photo of you on your website and if appropriate, include information about you. Who are you? What do you do? Why should people do business with you? This tends to be more common with solopreneurs like personal trainers and massage therapists, but almost every business can benefit from a personal touch. For larger company websites, this might be a group photo of the company or photos of employees. Either way, it helps to show that there are real people at the other end of the phone or email.

Contact Information

Make it easy for customers or potential customers, to contact you. Your particular business may not need a phone number, but whatever contact information is appropriate for your business, make sure it’s easy to find.

So, that’s a short list of things you can do with your website to boost your credibility with potential customers. Go through your website as if you’re a potential customer and see if you can find anything that could be improved. Most websites can be improved, especially when we look at it from a different perspective.
